Laboratory of Cornelius Krasel - Teaching

I teach on the following modules:

  • Human Physiology
    I lecture 6 hours on cardiovascular physiology and run two practicals, one on ECG and posture-related changes in blood pressure and the other on the effect of ATP on the interaction between actin and myosin.   • Introduction to Pharmacology and Toxicology
    I lecture 6 hours on pharmacokinetics, adverse drug reactions and drug-drug interactions. I am also responsible for running a practical where students explore the effects of acetylcholine on the relaxation of rabbit aorta, and help running another practical. Handouts can be found on the University's Blackboard site, or you can request them from me. Lectures are podcasted on Blackboard.
  • Therapeutics I
    I am lecturing 10 hours on respiratory therapeutics and (from 2009) 3 hours on cardiovascular therapeutics. I am also running a practical where we model restrictive and obstructive lung diseases using spirometers. Handouts can be found on the University's Blackboard site, or you can request them from me.
  • Concepts and Skills 2
    I am teaching students how to read a paper. Handouts can be found on the University's Blackboard site, or you can request them from me.
  • Advanced Topics
    I do a 1-hour lecture on the use of aptamers as therapeutics. Handouts can be found on the University's Blackboard site, or you can request them from me.
  • Final year projects
    I am responsible for organising the final year projects for Pharmacy students.
